Civil society, dapat palahukin sa budget process

SINIMULAN na ng House Committee on People’s Participation na pinamumunuan ni Bataan Rep. Maria Angela Garcia ang deliberasyon sa panukalang maisama ang civil society sa partisipasyon sa lahat ng yugto ng taunang proseso ng budget, mula preparasyon, deliberasyon sa committee at plenary level, hanggang sa pagpasa nito.

“We need to involve everybody in the budget process so that we are all aligned with our objectives in achieving our goals,” anang mambabatas.

Kabilang ang isinusulong na ito sa House Bills (HBs) 2794, 3155, 4153, 4523, 7990, 9122 at 11283 na inihain nina Reps. Javier Miguel Lopez Benitez, Roger Gaviola, Eduardo ‘Bro. Eddie’ Vilanueva, Iris Marie Demesa Montes, Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro, Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, at Eric Go Yap.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, ang accredited civil society organizations (CSOs) ay may garantiyang makakakuha ng access sa budget documents, representation sa congressional hearings, at dedicated session days para magprisinta ng kanilang proposals sa kaukulang House at Senate Committees.
