China, umaasa na papalag ang Pinas kapag inaabuso na, kinakaladkad sa isyu ng ‘trouble waters’

UMAASA ang China na papalag at tututol na ang Pilipinas kapag inaabuso na o may nagsasamantala at kinakaladkad sa isyu ng  “trouble waters.”  

Ang pahayag na ito ng Chinese embassy sa Maynila ay matapos na sabihin ni  US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin sa Camp Aguinaldo na muling pinagtibay ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos ang kanilang  commitment  sa 1951 Mutual Defense Treaty.

Sa joint press conference kasama si  Defense Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., sinabi ni Austin na ang hakbang na ito ay mahalaga  habang ang  “China continues to advance their illegitimate claims in the West Philippines Sea.”

Ang buwelta naman ng tagapagsalita ng Chinese embassy na tila dinudungisan ni Austin  ang China sa usapin ng South China Sea “to advance the anti-China political agenda of the US.”

“Such moves contradict the common aspiration of regional countries to seek peace, cooperation and development, and run counter to the common aspiration of the Filipino people to pursue sound economic recovery and a better life in cooperation with China,” ayon sa embahada.

Sinabi ng embahada, para sa China ang  “defense and security cooperation” sa pagitan ng mga bansa ay dapat na nakatutulong at kaaya-aya sa “regional peace at stability.”

Anito, ang defense cooperation ay dapat  na “not target against any third party, even less to harm the interests of a third party.”

“The United States, out of its self interests and zero-sum game mentality, continues to step up military posture in this region. Its actions escalate regional tension and undermine regional peace and stability,” ang wika ng embahada.

Inanunsyo naman ng Department of National Defense ang paghirang sa apat na bagong lokasyon para sa Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement sa Estados Unidos sa naging pagbisita ni Austin.

Si Austin ay dumating sa Pilipinas noong Martes ng gabi.
