Appointment ng dalawang Comelec commissioner, hiling ng Duterte Youth Party-List Chairman na i-defer

HINILING ni Duterte Youth Party-List Chairman Ronald Cardema, sa pamamagitan ng abogadong si Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, sa Commission on Appointments (CA) na i-defer ang appointment nina Ad Interim Comelec Commissioners Pipo & Casingal.

“In behalf of the 2.3 Million Filipinos who voted for the Duterte Youth Party-List, which is the most voted party-list by our OFWs abroad and also the most voted party-list by our Government Troops through the Local Absentee Voting (LAV), we seek the Senators & Congressmen of the Honorable Commission on Appointments (CA) to review the pending confirmation of Comelec Commissioners Noli Pipo and Norina Casingal, who both signed to suspend the May 19 Proclamation of the Duterte Youth Party-List.

Hindi tulad nina Comelec Chairman George Garcia at apat na Comelec Commissioners, na maaaring tangggalin sa pamamagitan ng Impeachment, ang natutirang dalawang bagong Commissioners Pipo at Casingal, ay nakabinbin CA at maaaring ma- revoked.

Sa statement, sinabi ni Cardema na ang ginawang paglagda para mabinbin ang proklamasyon ng partylist ay nagpapakita sa CA kung ano ang maaaring gawin ng dalawa kapag nakumpirma sila.

Halimbawa umano ang Kabataan Party-List at Gabriela Party-List na kapwa may naka-pending na Cancellation of Registration Case na inihain ng Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) at nilagdaan ng lahat ng State Solicitors mula OSG subalit hindi suspendido tulad nila.

Kung madiskuwalipika ang Duterte Youth Party-List, makakakuha ng upuan ang natalong Gabriela PL mula sa kanila.

“Also noteworthy to mention are the other party-lists and senatorial candidates, like Cong. Erwin Tulfo whose appointment as DSWD Secretary was revoked by the CA itself due to citizenship issues, but was proclaimed by the Comelec, together with Pipo & Casingal, even though the serious case was still pending. We hope the CA can ask these questions to our two new COMELEC Commissioners who have pending appointments,” nakasaad pa sa statement. (Vina de Guzman)
