Plunder vs Estrada, Revilla umusad na

SINIMULAN na ng Department of Justice (DOJ) nitong Lunes ang preliminary investigation sa plunder complaints na inihain laban kina Sen. Jinggoy Estrada at da­ting senador Bong Revilla kaugnay ng umano’y anomalya sa flood control projects.

Hindi naman dumalo ang dalawa dahil ayon kay Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon, itinakda ang PI para lamang sa pagtanggap ng case records at ma­aring abogado na lang nila ang lumutang.

“No, because the scheduled PI this afternoon is only for the reception of the records… There’s no need for them any counter-affidavit just yet,” ani Fadullon.

Ipatatawag ang dala­wa na personal na dumalo sa oras na iutos ng panel ang pagsusumite ng kanilang counter-affidavits.

“When the time comes that the counter-affidavits have to be submitted, that’s when they would be obliged to appear here,” ani Fadullon.

Bahagi ang isinagawang PI sa tatlong plunder complaints na inihain ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na nakabinbin sa DOJ.

Isa sa mga reklamo ang pagiging kapwa respondents sina Estrada at Bonoan, kung saan kasama din sa respondents ang namayapang si dating DPWH Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral, dating DPWH Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, suspendidong DPWH-NCR District Engineer Gerard Opulencia, at dismissed na si Bulacan First District Engineering Office chief Henry Alcantara, contractor na si Sally Santos at iba pang John at Jane Does.
Si Bonoan na dumalo sa PI, kasama ang abogado, na idinawit ni Bernardo sa “allocables” projects, ay maaari pa ring makaalis ng bansa subalit mananatili sa immigration look-out bulletin dahil sa misis na may medical condition. (Daris Jose)
