Gawa-gawa at imposible, ayon kay Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ang pag- uugnay sa kanya sa flood control projects

TINULIGSA ni Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ang gawa-gawang testimonya ng saksi sa pagdinig ng Senate Blue Ribbon Committee na nag-uugnay sa kanya sa umano’y kickback sa flood control projects.

“I was deeply surprised to hear the allegation raised against me today before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee— that several pieces of luggage supposedly containing money were ever delivered to a residence associated with me,” ani Romualdez.

“The so-called testimony of Sen. [Rodante] Marcoleta’s witness is an outright and complete fabrication—nothing more than a desperate attempt to link me to supposed kickbacks where none exist. Pilit na pilit,” dagdag nito.

Sinabi ni Romualdez na imposible ang pahayag mg saksi na nagdala siya ng pera sa McKinley simula ng December 2024 dahil ginagawa o under renovation ang property simula pa ng January 2024 at walang nakatira maliban sa mga construction workers.

” Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus—false in one thing, false in everything.

This is clearly political and the product of coaching. I will not allow these perjurious statements to pass unchallenged. Hindi ko ito palalampasin,” giit nito.

Muli nitong iginiit na wala siyang natanggap at hindi siya nakinabang o nakakuha ng kickbacks sa anumang infrastructure project.

“I have never authorized, instructed, or allowed anyone to engage in any conduct that would betray the people or taint my name,” dagdag nito.

Nagpahayag din ng kahandaan si Romualdez na harapin ang anumang akusasyon laban sa kanya.

“I welcome a fair, transparent, and impartial investigation to expose these falsehoods. I voluntarily resigned as Speaker of the House of Representatives precisely to demonstrate my full support for the inquiry into flood control issues.”

Inihayag pa nito na nanatili siyang walang kibo bilang respeto sa ginagawang proseso.

Ngunit, dala na rin sa nakakaladkad na ang kanyang pangalan sa kontrobersiya ay nangako siyang lalabanan niya ito sa pamamagitan ng ebidensiya.

“Kahit kailan, hindi ako nagnakaw ng pondo ng bayan. Hindi ko kailangan ang perang galing sa masama.To the Filipino people, I give you this solemn assurance: I will never betray your trust,” pahayag ni dating Speaker Romualdez. (Vina de Guzman)
