Matapos na ma-defend ang kanilang thesis: SOFIA, sigurado nang ga-graduate sa senior high school

PAGKATAPOS ma-defend ni Sparkle teen star Sofia Pablo at ng kanyang group mates ang kanilang thesis noong nakaraang buwan, binalita nito na officially ay ga-graduate na siya sa senior high school sa UST Angelicum College.

Pinost last June 2 ng 19-year old Kapuso Next Gen Leading Lady via Instagram ang kanyang kasiyahan na tapos na siya sa senior high school at bilang bonus sa kanyang sipag at tiyaga, tatanggap siya ng award.

Kahit nga naging busy si Sofia sa taping ng kanyang pinagbibidahan na GMA Afternoon Prime teleserye na ‘Prinsesa Ng City Jail’, hindi ito nagpabaya sa kanyang pag-aaral. Minsan daw ay dinadala niya sa taping set ang kanyang assignments at kapag break time ay pinagsasabay niya ang pag-aaral sa pag-memorize ng script.

Last May 2, na-defend ng maayos ni Sofia at ng kanyang group mates ang kanilang thesis titled “Consumer Behavior Towards Online Shopping Fraudulent Incidents in Quezon City” na requirement para sa kanilang Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) Strand.

Noong February naman ay nag-pictorial na ang teen actress para sa kanyang graduation photo.

SINABI ni Barbie Forteza na iba ang ipapakita niyang character sa Beauty Empire  as Noreen Alfonso, ang rags-to-riches CEO na maghihiganti sa mga gumawa sa kanya ng mali.

Ayon kay Barbie, makaka-relate pa rin ang mga manonood ng Beauty Empire kahit na executives ang ginagampanan nilang karakter.

“Ang istorya namin ay punong-puno ng puso at pagmamahal sa pamilya. With beauty and fashion at its core, we will tackle murder mystery, love for family, revenge.”

Si Kyline Alcantara naman ay humuhugot sa personal niyang mga karanasan bilang si Shari De Jesus na isa ring CEO ng sarili niyang skincare and beauty brand.

“I approached it with a combination of my personal life and the character’s experiences. ‘Yung heartbreak, ‘yung mga experience ko sa buhay, makakadagdag din naman sa pag-atake sa isang karakter.”

Mentor ni Shari si Velma Imperial, ang orihinal na girl boss ng Philippine beauty industry sa Beauty Empire, na gagampanan naman ni Ruffa Gutierrez.

Bilang dating beauty queen, aminado si Ruffa na naka-relate siya sa karakter niya.

“Because Velma is, you know she’s a very ambitious and powerful woman, and yet, behind that, she’s very soft. Nagmahal, nagkaroon siya ng heartbreak, and I think, me as Ruffa, marami na rin akong heartbreak na pinagdaanan sa buhay ko.”

Si Sam Concepcion naman ang gaganap na Migoy, ang pulis na kababata ni Noreen.

Ayon kay Sam, marami siyang na-experience na firsts sa Beauty Empire: “It’s been a really great experience being here, working with the team, working with such generous and talented actors.”

Kasama rin sa Beauty Empire sina Gloria Diaz, Choi Bo-min, Chai Fonacier, at Sid Lucero.

WALANG choice ang Broadway diva na si Patti Lupone kundi mag-apologize dahil sa ginawa niyang pambu-bully at racial micro-aggression sa kapwa niya Broadway Divas na sina Audra McDonald at Kecia Lewis.

Dahil sa  “salty, uncensored opinions” ni Lupone, higit na 500 Broadway professionals ang nag-petition na huwag imbitahan si Lupone ng Tony Awards dahil sa kanyang “degrading and misogynistic” comments on Audra ang Kecia.

Agad nag-post ng kanyang apologetic statement on IG ang 76-year old diva.

“For as long as I have worked in the theatre, I have spoken my mind and never apologized. That is changing today. I am deeply sorry for the words I used during The New Yorker interview, particularly about Kecia Lewis, which were demeaning and disrespectful.

“I regret my flippant and emotional responses during this interview, which were inappropriate, and I am devastated that my behavior has offended others and has run counter to what we hold dear in this community. I hope to have the chance to speak to Audra and Kecia personally to offer my sincere apologies. I made a mistake, I take full responsibility for it, and I am committed to making this right. Our entire theatre community deserves better.”

Sumikat si Lupone dahil sa pagganap niya as Evita Peron sa Broadway musical na Evita in 1980. Tatlong beses siyang nanalo ng Tony Award for Evita, Gypsy (2008) and Company (2022).
