Courtesy resignation ni Teodoro , hindi makakaapekto sa military operations -PN Spokesperson for the WPS Trinidad

HINDI makaaapekto ang courtesy resignation ni Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. sa operasyon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Ang AFP ay isang professional organization na patuloy na tutuparin ang mandato nito na magsilbi sa mga Filipino at protektahan ang bansa.

Ang courtesy resignation ni Teodoro ay bilang tugon sa naging kautusan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

“The AFP is a professional organization. We keep performing our mandate just as other agencies of the government are professional in performing their mandates. Tayo naman kung sino man ang nakaupo sa atin, we keep performing our mandate. Kung sinong maitalaga sa gobyerno, we are full support from the Navy, the Air Force, and the Army,” ang sinabi ni Rear Adm. Roy Vincent Trinidad, Philippine Navy (PN) spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Para kay Trinidad, ang AFP ay “doing good” sa nakalipas na tatlong taon habang nasa kapangyarihan si Teodoro bilang DND chief.

“Nakikita ito sa result ng mga surveys na naiintindihan ng ating taumbayan at sumusuporta sila as paninindigan ng DND at AFP in performing its mandate especially sa West Philippine Sea,” ang sinabi pa rin ni Trinidad.

Ang Navy, ayon kay Trinidad, buo ang suporta kay Teodoro, binigyang-diin na walang roadblocks kahit pa ang kapalaran ng huli sa Gabinete ng Pangulo ay nakabitin.

“There are no roadblocks, the SND [Secretary of National Defense] has our full support. Whatever the guidance of the SND is as the alter ego of the President in the Defense Department, we fully support it. We have a very robust relationship with our SND,” aniya pa rin.

Matatandaang, noong nakaraang linggo, inatasan ni Pangulong Marcos ang kanyang mga Cabinet secretaries na magsumite ng kanilang courtesy resignation bilang bahagi na pagkakaroon ng pagbabago kasunod ng hindi kanais-nais na mga resulta sa kamakailan lamang na midterm elections.

Nagdesisyon si Pangulong Marcos na panatilihin sa puwesto ang kanyang economic team at maging si Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, subalit tinanggap ang courtesy resignations ni Ambassador Antonio Lagdameo, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and Environment Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga. Nagdesisyon din ang Pangulo na palitan ang pinuno ng Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

Sa ngayon, hindi pa rin nagdedesisyon ang Pangulo sa courtesy resignation ni Teodoro bilang Kalihim ng DND. ( Daris Jose)
