Obiena tututok sa outdoor tilt

SESENTRO ang atensiyon ni two-time Olympian EJ Obiena sa outdoor tournaments matapos mabigong makapasok sa 2025 World Indoor Championships na idaraos sa Marso 21 hanggang 23 sa Nanjing, China.

May ilang torneo pa na qualifying tournament para sa World Indoor Cham­pionships subalit wala na ito sa kalendaryo ni Obiena.

“Even though there is still time to qualify for the World Indoor Championships, there are no more competitions left for me to participate,” ani Obiena.

Kaya naman nais na lamang ni Obiena na itutok ang kanyang preparasyon para sa outdoor events.

Sasabak pa si O­biena sa Mondo Classic sa Marso 13 subalit hindi na ito pasok sa qualifying tournament para sa World Indoor Championships na magsisimula sa Marso 12.

“The last competition was on the 16th of F­ebruary in Torun, Poland and the next one that I got is Mondo Classic on the 13th of March, which is already outside the qualification period. I can promise you all that my team and I have scoured the calendar for possible competitions but no luck. With this I would inevitably miss the cham­pionships,” ani Obiena.

Huling nasilayan sa aksyon si Obiena sa Orlen Copernicus Cup sa Torun, Poland kung saan nasungkit nito ang ginto tangan ang 5.80 metro na naitala nito.

Importante rin para kay Obiena ang outdoor tournaments dahil sasabak ito sa World Championships, Asian Championships at SEA Games
