Anti-terror bill, pirmado na nila Sotto, Cayetano

Ipinadala na sa Malakanyang kahapon, Hunyo 9, Martes  ang panukalang Anti-Terrorism Act, ayon ito kay Senate President Vicente Sotto II .

Kinumpirma nitong pinirmahan na niya ang panukala. Maging si House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano ay lumagda na rin kagabi.

“Alan signed last night. Sending it to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte this morning,” ani Sotto sa isang mensahe.

Noong nakaraang linggo, sinabi ni Sotto na “as good as passed” ang kontrobersiyal na panukala matapos itong sertipikahang urgent ni Pangulong Duterte.

Tinanggap ng Kamara ang bersyon ng Senado ng panukala at inaprubahan ito sa ikatlo at panghuling pagbasa noong Hunyo 3.

“The DOJ can interfere by advising the President to veto the bill altogether because, remember, this is not a revenue measure nor it is a budget measure, so there is no line item veto here,” ani Lacson.

“It’s either the President vetoes the bill in whole, not in part, or he approves it,” dagdag pa niya. (Daris Jose)
