Matapos ihayag ni PBBM na ibi-veto ang bill… 7 senador atras sa Anti-teenage Pregnancy Bill

MATAPOS ihayag ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na ibi-veto ang anti-teenage pregnancy bill, pitong senador ang umatras sa pagsuporta sa panukala.

Ito ay sina Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, Senators Loren Legarda, Bong Revilla Jr., Senators Bong Go, JV Ejercito, Cynthia Villar at Nancy Binay.

Nauna rito, nagpahayag ng pag-aalala si Pangulong Marcos kaugnay sa ilang probisyon ng panukalang “sex education bill” na naglalayong pigilan ang teenage pregnancy

“… I was shocked, and I was appalled by some of the elements of that [SB 1979]. Because all this ‘woke’ [attitude] that they are trying to bring into our system,” napaulat na sinabi ng Pangulo.

Naniniwala ang ­Pangulo na hindi dapat itinuturo ang “masturbation” sa kasing bata ng apat na taong gulang.

“You will teach 4-year-olds how to masturbate. That every child has the right to try different sexualities. This is ridiculous. It is abhorrent. It is a travesty of what sexual [orientation] and sex education should be to children…,” sabi ng Pangulo.

Idinagdag naman ni Revilla na bagaman at dapat harapin ang isyu ng teenage pregnancy pero dapat magkaroon ng “refinement” ang panukala na naayos sa interes ng mga mamamayan. ( Daris Jose)
