PHILHEALTH may sapat na pondo para sa bagong benefit packages

SINIGURO ng mga opisyal ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) sa mga mambabatas na may sapat itong pondo para sa bago at pinalawig na health benefit packages.

Ang paniniguro ay ginawa ng mga opisyal ng PhilHealth sa pangunguna ni President at Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Ledesma Jr., sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Health na pinamumunuan ni Batanes Rep. Ciriaco Gato Jr. ukol sa pagtaas ng benefit packages nito.

Sinabi ni Gato na makakakuha ang mga PhilHealth members ng bago at expanded health benefit packages na nagkakahalaga ng P271 billion.

Inihayag naman ni PhilHealth finance officer Renato Limsiaco Jr., sa pagtatanong ni Appropriations acting chairperson at Marikina City Rep. Stella Luz Quimbo kaugnay sa cash-on-hand ng ahensiya, na ang PhilHealth ay mayroong P492 billion nitong Dec. 31, 2024.

Dagdag nito, ang P203 billion ay kokolektahin sa direct contributors mula sa private sector atgovernment ngayong 2025. nitong 2024, ang actual collection base sa PhilHealth’s cash position report ay P178.5 billion mula sa direct contributions at P9.6 billion mula sa indirect contributions.

“That’s the entire picture. But the bottom line is we really have more than enough to fund your corporate budget of P280 billion. And if I remember it correctly last hearing, (you said) that you intend to spend P244 billion for benefit (packages),” ani Quimbo.

Klinaro naman ni Ledesma na ang pondo para sa benepisyo ngayong taon ay nasa P271 billion, na inaprubahan ng PhilHealth Board.

“So P271 billion is the total new number for total expected benefit packages in 2025,” pahayag ni Quimbo.

Ayon kay Limsiaco, ang P284 billion corporate budget sa 2025 ng Philhealth ay hinati sa P271 billion para sa benefits expense; P12.5 billion paea sa administration and personnel services; at P200 million para sa maintenance at iba pang operating expenses.  (Vina de Guzman)
