TINULIGSA ni Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. si Vice President Sara Duterte dahil sa umano’y pagbaligtad sa isinasaad sa standard protocols ng Kamara partikular na sa isyu ng paggamit ng phone ng detainees.

“It is infuriating to see the Vice President and her allies twisting facts to suit their narrative. The claim that phones were confiscated is a blatant lie,” ani Gonzales.

Paliwanag ng Pampanga congressman, boluntaryong ibinigay ng nakadetineng Office of the Vice President (OVP) Chief of Staff and Undersecretary Zuleika Lopez at kanyang kasama makaraang matapos ang nakalaang oras ng paggamit, alinsunod sa security protocols.

“These rules are not arbitrary. They are enforced consistently to maintain order and security within the facility. This is not about special treatment or discrimination,” giit ni Gonzales.

Batid aniya ito ni VP Duterte subalit ipinilit umano nito na magpakalat ng disinformation para idiskredito ang institusyon.

Si Lopez ay nakadetine sa Kamara matapos ma-cite in contempt sa pagdinig ng House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability kaugnay sa misuse ng ₱612.5 milyong confidential funds ng OVP at Department of Education ng nagsisilbi pang Education Secretary si VP Duterte.

Sa isang statement, nilinaw ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco na hindi totoo ang akusasyon na kinumpiska ang kanilang cellphones.

Niliwanag pa ni Velasco na pinapayagan ang mga detainees ng limitadong paggamit ng phone bilang bahagi ng routine security at sumunod naman si Lopez at kanyang kasamahan na boluntaryong i-surrender ang kanilang phones matapos maimpormahan na tapos na ang oras ng kanilang paggamit.

Ang naturang protocol, ani Velasco ay ipinatutupad sa lahat detainees ng walang exception.

Tinuligsa pa ni Gonzales sa pamumulitika umano ni Duterte sa isyu.

Inakusahan pa niya ang vp ng paggawa ng palabas sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng sitwasyon upang atakihin ang institution.

“Instead of respecting the rules, she has chosen to politicize the matter, tarnishing the House’s reputation in the process. Let’s call this what it is: a deliberate attempt to smear the institution to protect her own political interests,” pahayag ni Gonzales. (Vina de Guzman)
