P2.8B, ipinalabas ng DBM para sa pagkuha ng firetrucks, emergency vehicle ng BFP

IPINALABAS ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang kabuuang P2.880 billion para sa Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) para pambili ng 300 firetrucks at emergency vehicles na naaayon sa nagpapatuloy sa ‘modernization efforts’ nito.
Inaprubahan ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman ang pagpapalabas sa Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) para sa pagpopondo noong Mayo 10, 2024.
Ang alokasyon ay gagamitin para sa pagkuha ng 154 firetrucks, tatlong collapsed structure at rescue truck, at 132 ambulance.
“We understand how crucial BFP’s responsibilities are during emergency response and fire incidents. We owe it to them to support their ongoing capability enhancement efforts so they can effectively perform their mandate,” ayon sa Kalihim.
“The release of the funding is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to continuously capacitate the fire bureau,” aniya pa rin.
Ang nasabing halaga ay huhugutin mula sa balance na 80% share ng BFP mula sa Fire Code revenues, alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 9514. (Daris Jose)
