Mga Pinay baller tampok sa WNBL

BIBIGYAN ng pansin ng Women’s National Basketball Leagueb (WNBL) sa unang taon ang pagpaparada sa mga purong Pinay basketbolista.

“Both NBL (National Basketball League) and WNBL are strictly for all Pilipino players because my point in putting up WNBL, I have always believed even during my pro league days that there’s a surplus of women players in the Philippines,” deklarasyon kamakalawa ni NBL executive vice president Rhose Montreal.

Dinugtong ng opisyal, “So I might as well give them the exposure and then getting imports or getting Pil-Fors to play will come later I guess but what I really wanted for the first season is that it’s going to be an All-Pilipina composition for WNBL.”

Masaya ang naging tugon ni Gilas Pilipinas women’s basketball cagers Maria Beatrice ‘Bea’ Daez-Fabros at Danica Therese Jose sa pagpasok ng WNBL na binasbasan ng Games Amusements Board sa nakalipas bilang bagong propesyonal na liga sa bansa.

“I hope that this league will be very much sustainable and it really opened a lot of doors to Pilipina ballers now that the league is here,” reaksiyon nang naglaro sa Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles sa University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

Dinagdag naman ng dating University of the Philippines Lady Maroons playmaker na si Daez-Fabros: “I think it’s a dream come true for all of us female ballers.”
