Grab namumurong pagmultahin muli

NANGANGANIB na pagmultahing muli ang ride-hailing company na Grab.
Ito ay dahil kulang pa umano ng P6 milyon ang total refund na ibinibigay ng Grab sa mga pasahero.
Ayon sa Philippine Competition Commission (PCC), nasa P25 milyon ang multa ng Grab at nagsimula ang refund case noon pang 2019.
Sabi ni PCC officer-in-charge director Ivy Medina, nasa 70 porsyento pa lamang ang nare-refund ng Grab.
Pinag-aaralan pa aniya ng PCC ngayon kung pagmumultahin muli ang Grab.
“The commission is now considering whether or not the circumstances or the reasons for which that refund was not yet fully paid to consumers would merit another fine to be imposed on Grab. Please give us time to complete that decision-making process,” pahayag ni Medina.
Nabatid na ang refund case ay hiwalay pa sa ?40 milyong multa ng antitrust body sa Grab dahil sa kabiguan na tuparin ang price commitments.
“There’s about 30 percent remaining. I don’t know how much of that is because of that difficulty — some baka nawala na Grab account nila (some might not have their Grab accounts anymore). There are reasons being cited so that’s what’s being looked at by our adjudication office,” pahayag ni PCC chairperson Michael Aguinaldo.
Sa pahayag ng Grab, sinabi nito na tutuparin nila ang obligasyon.
“Grab Philippines remains fully committed to complying with its undertakings and commitments with the PCC, and doing right by its stakeholders — especially its millions of users,” pahayag ng Grab. (Daris Jose)
