VP Sara, absent sa UN educ summit

ABSENT at hindi dadalo si Vice President at Education chief Sara Duterte  sa United Nations education summit  na nakatakdang idaos sa susunod na linggo.

Sinabi ni  Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Assistant Secretary Kira Christianne Danganan-Azucena  na  ang tatayong kinatawan ng Pilipinas sa nasabing okasyon ay si  DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo.

“We did receive confirmation from the Office of the Vice President that she will not be attending the education summit so, in her stead, Secretary Manalo will attend the summit,” anito.

Ang  Transforming Education Summit (TES) ay idaraos sa New York sa Setyembre  19 sa panahon ng  77th UN General Assembly.

“It aims to elevate education to the top of the global political agenda and call for coordinated actions to reverse the slide on progress towards sustainable development goal 4, or ensuring quality education for all, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic,” ayon sa ulat.

Bago pa ang  summit, nagsilbi si Duterte  bilang  national convenor ng Pilipinas at pinangunahan ang TES consultations kung saan nagsama-sama ang mga stakeholders mula sa iba’t ibang panig ng Pilipinas upang pag-usapan ang mga pamamaraan para  mapabilis ang progreso tungo sa pinagsama-samang layunin sa edukasyon.
