Robert Pattinson Admits ‘The Batman’ Is The Hardest Thing He’s Ever Done

ROBERT Pattinson, has admitted that taking on the role of the Caped Crusader in The Batman is the hardest thing he has ever done.

Initially being conceived as a spinoff outing of Ben Affleck‘s Batman after Batman V Superman, the actor later left the film after giving up the DC role completely, leading director Matt Reeves to take over the project.

Pattinson was later officially cast in May 2019 and, after several delays, the film finally landed on a release date of March 4, 2022.

The Batman is set to follow a more inexperienced Bruce Wayne during his early years as the caped crusader of Gotham City when he first comes into contact with a mysterious serial killer known as The Riddler. Furthermore, the vigilante is also set to team up with many of his allies in this iteration, including Jim Gordon, Catwoman, and loyal butler, Alfred Pennyworth.

Joining Pattinson in the star-studded cast of this new chapter of Batman is Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell.

In a tell-all interview with GQ, Pattinson talked all about his experience in taking on the mantel of Batman and the effect that it had on him, not only as

The actor detailed the immense pressure of playing Batman, both in popularity and mentality, and how that pressure of staying so constantly busy within the role affected him.

DC’s newest actor says, “I just always had this anchor of Batman. Rather than thinking you’re flotsam to the news, you could feel engaged without being paralyzed by it. Everyone I know, if you had a little momentum going in your career or your life, then stopping, you had to have a reckoning with yourself.

Whereas I was so incredibly busy the whole time, doing something that was also super high pressure, by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done…. I was still playing Batman at the end of the day, even though the world might end.

In the many years that the Caped Crusader has spent on the big screen, Pattinson is not the first of the actors to take on the role that has expressed extreme difficulty. Even with the most recent predecessor, Affleck, the star had previously admitted that the many different aspects of walking into the character’s shoes could be incredibly difficult, from the extreme workout regimen and diet to capturing his damaged mental state.

Christian Bale‘s intense commitment was also apparent, with the actor putting on a crazy amount of muscle for the role, further highlighting how difficult the role can be.

With this revelation of Pattinson’s difficulties within the role, it is apparent that he put plenty of hard work into perfectly ripping the characters from the pages of DC Comics, surely giving justice to the performance audiences have been waiting for. (source: screenrant.com)
