A new mysterious trailer has been released for M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming thriller film, Old.
M.Night Shyamalan has been on a bit of a roll in the last year few years, turning around his reputation for the better with projects like Splitand The Visit.
Now it looks like he could have another critical and commercial success on his hands with his newest film Old, which has a terrifying concept at the heart of it.
As you can glimpse from this newly-released trailer, visiting a certain secluded beach causes people to age rapidly, eventually leading to their deaths and their bodies decomposing.
As well as the scary premise of becoming old and dying within a few hours, the film also leans into the psychological horror of parents seeing their children become teenagers in the blink of an eye, as well as the paranoia that sets in when faced with such a situation and not knowing who to trust.
The trailer also cleverly deals with a question you might otherwise have had going into the film: why don’t the people just go back the way they came? Because people are blacking out when they try to leave.
There are also some strange symbols hinting at what’s going on and how our protagonists might escape. Will it lead to a Shyamalan trademark twist?
