Pierce Brosnan Joins DC’s ‘Black Adam’ as Justice Society’s Doctor Fate

PIERCE Brosnan is joining DC’s upcoming Black Adam film as the Justice Society’s Doctor Fate.

After Zack Snyder’s Justice League, another superhero team surfaces in this upcoming film that stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as the eponymous anti-hero.

In Black AdamDoctor Fate will be a part of the Justice Society, a team that also includes Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone.

Brosnan, known for his role as James Bond (which he embodied from 1995 to 2002) plays Kent Nelson, the son of an archaeologist who has studied sorcery and received the immense power of the magical Helmet of Fate (an instrument imbued with the power of Nabu, one of the mythical Lords of Order).

With the helmet, Doctor Fate ranks among the most powerful magic users in the DC Universe, with a history the stems all the way back to ancient Egypt.

Details are scarce about the film’s plot, but those who are familiar to DC’s Black Adam know that the villain is the archrival of Shazam!, who also got his own film starring Zachary Levi back in 2019. With both films being under New Line Cinema and Warner Bros., the two characters are sure to clash in the future.

It’s directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who recently worked with Dwayne Johnson on Jungle Cruise and is produced by Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions and Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo.

The character of Doctor Fate was announced as being a part of Black Adam during the movie’s panel at DC FanDome last summer, where Johnson also unveiled the movie’s first teaser—a dynamic motion comic featuring the art of BossLogic.
