PINURI ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang ‘hard work’ at dedikasyon ng maraming tapat at committed na public servants, habang tinuligsa ang mga opisyal at tauhan na isinasangkot sa di umano’y korapsyon sa infrastructure projects na iniimbestigahan ngayon ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).

“These corrupt people are not the face of government. All they are is the face of corruption. That’s all they are. They are not typical of government,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos sa pinakabagong BBM Podcast na in-ere, araw ng Martes.

“I have always said, there are so many people in government who are very good, who are dedicated, who make sacrifices, who give everything that they can to their service,” ayon pa rin sa Punong Ehekutibo.

Sinabi ng Pangulo na sinimulan niya ang pagbubunyag ng para sa kanya’y ‘deeply entrenched corruption’ sa flood control at infrastructure projects dahil na rin sa konsiderasyon para sa mga tapat na government workers.

“One of the reasons I really exposed all of this was because these people are trying so hard. They come in to work early in the morning. They leave late. They don’t take holidays. They come in on the weekends just so that they can do what they’re… even above and beyond their actual job description,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.

Winika pa ng Pangulo na karamihan sa mga government workers ay mas gugustuhin na gawin ang kanilang trabaho at talagang maglingkod, upang sa gayon ay hindi naman mabansagan ang iba sa gobyerno na kurakot, kasama ng mga nagbulsa ng public funds na nakalaan para sa mga mahahalagang proyekto at programa.

“We must respect that people are really working very hard and trying their best. You cannot paint everyone in government with the same brush as all of these corrupt operators that you see in government,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos.

“And yes, there are many, many of them. But you will find…They do not filter down. These people are making serious sacrifices, time away from their family, money out of their own pocket. Things like that. And they do this constantly, every single day,” aniya pa rin.

Samantala, itinatag ni Pangulong Marcos noong September 11 ang ICI para imbestigahan ang di umano’y korapsyon, iregularidad at maling paggamit ng pondo sa government flood control at kaugnay na proyekto sa nakalipas na 10 taon.

Ang ICI ay inatasan din na magrekumenda ng paghahain ng naaangkop na mga pagsasakdal o kaso sa Ombudsman, Department of Justice (DOJ), Civil Service Commission (CSC), at iba pang competent bodies. (Daris Jose)

IPINALIWANAG ng Malakanyang kung bakit si outgoing Secretary of Justice Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla ang napili ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. bilang bagong Ombudsman ng Republika ng Pilipinas.

Sa press briefing sa Malakanyang, sinabi ni Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Acting Secretary Dave Gomez na nagkaroon at dumaan sa vetting process na nakaayon sa Saligang Batas si Remulla. Bukod pa sa dumaan ito sa “very rigorous process”, “selection process” na nagsimula sa Judicial and Bar Council (JBC).

Hindi naman sang-ayon si Gomez na si Remulla ang ‘most controversial’ sa hanay o sa shortlist na may petsang Oktubre 6, 2025 na naglalaman ng pitong alphabetical order na mga pangalan para pagpilian ng Pangulo, gaya nina Philippine Competition Commission chairperson Michael Aguinaldo, retired Court of Appeals Justice Stephen Cruz, Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Samuel Gaerlan, Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs Anna Liza Logan, retired SC Justice Mario Lopez, at Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Michael Frederick Musngi.

“As I’ve said there is a vetting process which is provided for by our Constitution and our laws and he went through that very rigorous process…selection process which started with the JBC,” ani Gomez.

Sinabi pa niya na naging angat si Remulla sa iba dahil “At the end of the day after the president receives the recommendation of the JBC, it is still the decision of the president after he receives the shortlist.”

Samantala, sa pangamba naman ng iba na may kinikilingan si Remula, sinabi ni Gomez na “I don’t believe there is basis to that concern.”

“We have the highest confidence to Sec. Remulla. He will be very impartial when he assumes his new role as the Ombudsman,” ang pahayag ni Gomez. (Daris Jose)

SA pagsusumikap na makurbahan ang pagkalat ng sakit tulad ng African swine fever (ASF) na tumama sa alagang hayop sa probinsiya, isinusulong ng dalawang mambabatas ang paglalagay ng veterinary clinics sa bawat local government unit sa bansa.

Nakapaloob ito sa House Bill No. 5059, o Animal Medical Center bill na inihain nina Abra lone district Rep. JB Bernos at asawa nitong si Solid North Party-list Rep. Ching Bernos.

Ayon kay Rep. JB Bernos, nag-ugat ang pagsusulong ng panukala matapos makaranas ang kanilang probinsiya ng ASF.

“Matagal nang problema ang ASF hindi lang sa Abra, kundi sa buong bansa. We believe that with a properly equipped veterinary clinic in every municipality we can help farmers and livestock raisers prevent the loss of their livelihood through timely and affordable, if not free, interventions,” anang kongresista.

Habang naglalaan ang Local Government Code para sa pagbuo ng positions para sa Provincial and City Veterinarian, ay wala namang probisyon para sa designasyon ng municipal veterinarian.

Wala ring isinasaad sa batas ang pagbuo ng isang veterinary clinic o center, o pangungunahan ito provincial at city veterinarians.

“Hindi na dapat optional ang pagtatayo ng mga local veterinary clinics dahil ito ay matinding pangangailangan na may epekto sa kalusugan, seguridad sa pagkain, at ekonomiya,” pahayag ng lady solon.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, ang clinic ay maglalaan ng ibat ibang serbisyo kabilang na ang veterinary consultations, animal vaccinations, disease diagnosis, treatment, and minor surgical procedures; technical assistance and health management programs for farmers and livestock raisers; at edukasyon para sa responsible pet ownership at humane treatment of animals.

Magsisilbi din ang clinics bilang hub para sa disease monitoring, outbreak response, at vaccination drives.

Gayundin, ang pagsasagawa ng routine vaccinations (tulad halimbawa ng anti-rabies, distemper) at deworming services; spay and neuter programs para sa pet population control; pagemnetene ng database ng registered pets at vaccinated animals sa loob ng jurisdiction ng LGUs at makipag-coordinate sa mga local animal welfare organizations at law enforcement for animal rescue and cruelty cases.
