TBA Studios unveils trailer for historical biopic ‘Quezon’ ahead of October 15 release

Posted on: August 25th, 2025 by @peoplesbalita No Comments
TBA Studios has released the full trailer for the much-anticipated historical biopic “Quezon,” ahead of the film opening exclusively in theaters in the Philippines on October 15.
Starring Jericho Rosales as Manuel L. Quezon, the film is the much-awaited conclusion to TBA Studios’ cinematic “Bayaniverse” trilogy, a series of films based on Philippine history. The “Bayaniverse” includes 2015’s “Heneral Luna,” the Philippines’ highest grossing historical movie of all time; and 2018’s critically acclaimed “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.”
The trailer features key scenes and highlights from the film. Directed by Jerrold Tarog, “Quezon” is a historical drama that focuses on Manuel L. Quezon years after the Philippine Revolution during the American occupation.

The full synopsis of the film goes:
“When his fight for Philippine independence from the United States is put to the test, Manuel L. Quezon finds himself playing the brutal game of politics to outmaneuver his rivals—including Leonard Wood, Sergio Osmeña, and Joven Hernando. In his relentless quest for power, he eventually faces off with Emilio Aguinaldo in the 1935 Philippine presidential elections, using charm and favoritism as both weapons and currency, in a campaign that ultimately changes the face of Philippine politics and history.”
Joining Rosales in the film are Benjamin Alves as Young Manuel L. Quezon and Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo, reprising their roles from “Heneral Luna” and “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.” Iain Glen of the hit fantasy television series “Game of Thrones” joins “Quezon” as Leonard Wood. Arron Villaflor also returns to the “Bayaniverse” as Joven Hernando, with Cris Villanueva playing the role of the older Joven Hernando.
The ensemble cast also includes Romnick Sarmenta as Sergio Osmeña, Karylle as Aurora Quezon, JC Santos as Manuel Roxas, and Jake Macapagal as Manuel Nieto. Completing the cast are Bodjie Pascua, Angeli Bayani, Jojit Lorenzo, Joross Gamboa, Therese Malvar, Ana Abad Santos, Ketchup Eusebio, and Nico Locco.
“Quezon” is produced by TBA Studios with the support of the Film Development Council of the Philippines and CreatePHFilms.
TBA Studios President and COO Daphne O. Chiu-Soon said that while it is the conclusion to the film studios’ acclaimed “Bayaniverse” trilogy, “Quezon” is a stand-alone film. We are excited and proud to present ‘Quezon’ to the big screen both in the Philippines and internationally soon. This project is a testament to our unwavering commitment to bringing the very best of Philippine cinema to the movie theaters,” Chiu-Soon said. “With this, ‘Quezon’ is designed to be a compelling stand-alone cinematic experience for all audiences, whether they’ve seen the previous films or not.”
Chiu-Soon added that TBA Studios will offer special ticket prices for students and teachers, the details of which will be announced soon.
Following its October 15 premiere in Philippine theaters, “Quezon” will be released internationally at a later date.

“Greatest lesson ko is yung naging mantra ko na to man up. So, ‘yon yung the best.”

Dalawa pang pelikula ang rated R-13: ang Japanese animated movie na “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle,” at ang American fantasy- drama na “The Life of Chuck.”

Posted on: August 25th, 2025 by @peoplesbalita No Comments
Panimula ng kanyang mahabang post, “I came in for the 2nd dose of my RITUXIMAB. i was prepared in the sense that we already knew all the protocols we would all need to follow.
“I have to give a big shoutout to @ging.md because she saw something in my blood panel results that she found alarming.”
“She convinced me to have an ultrasound (it’s not this one) done yesterday; with all my hospitalizations I can already tell na dapat na kong kabahan pag umakyat na yung senior technician…”
Pagpapatuloy pa ni Kris, “I had more tests today and 3 different specialists (I want to protect their privacy kaya very general ang pagbigay ko ng info) came to explain things to me and how important it was to not delay because I would be endangering my life further.
“Since the night before my confinement Bimb hasn’t been sleeping well. Sunday, kuya came to visit me (i’ll share those pics when i am discharged).
“Doctor NC told me that he doesn’t do procedures unless they are necessary but this is something all my doctors discussed- why does Kris Aquino get these difficult to detect possible health time bombs not once but twice in her lifetime and because of the first, we now all know she’s allergic to all blood thinners.”
Dagdag pa ng TV host/actress, “I had the non-invasive option explained to me- but i chose to literally trust Filipino doctors with my life rather than take medicine that I am unsure of especially because I just finished a big dose of a strong immunosuppressant and I am continuing with 2 immunosuppressants and so much more supplements, antihistamines, and important vitamins.”
“Please pray for all my doctors, those assisting them in the OR, all the nurses (especially mine) and technicians.

Posted on: August 25th, 2025 by @peoplesbalita No Comments
Panimula ng post niya, “Okay, so about the last podcast episode.. Una sa lahat, I didn’t think the part about my story with Alden would spark controversy, let alone be a big deal, considering that everyone had already moved on from Kalyeserye and AlDub.
“From the start, I hoped the clashes between fans on both sides would end, at least, even though the hate train aimed at me was nonstop then and apparently still remains so.”
Paglilinaw pa ng wife ni Cong. Arjo Atayde, “the point of our podcast is to look back on Kalyeserye and to discuss and share behind-the-scenes stories—the untold ones—and that can include personal experiences, narratives, and sentiments.
“I believe it’s acceptable to reflect and openly discuss them for this podcast, especially now that it’s been a decade and all is well between the individuals involved, particularly me and Alden.
“There is no reason to exclude him from the story/our stories, despite his absence, because he was a big part of Kalyeserye—and it would have felt strange to leave him out.
“That said, there was no intention to provoke criticism or negativity towards him or anyone else. I was asked, I answered, and I shared a short anecdote.”
Dagdag pahayag pa niya, “I believe it’s not a bad thing to share a personal story related to the question and topic, as long that it’s based on facts. There was no malice or ill intent behind my sharing that story about myself, him, and us.
“There are countless other stories I’ve kept to myself and chosen not to share. You know how podcasts work, they can be really personal, but ours didn’t even go that far. All stories shared were surface-level.
“But the biggest question will always be: why do we get criticized for saying our truth and the truth? And why is it when we do, some people resort to personal attacks meant to demean and harm?
“I get that we have supporters who aren’t really fans of the other, but why the hostility? Why pit a woman against a man, as if there’s a competition for who’s more ‘successful’?
“Success, in this sense, is ridiculously measured and defined by career ‘achievements’ as if our lives revolve solely around our jobs. In the grand scheme of things, what is really there to prove? All the hatred and comparisons—what for, really?”
Dagdag paliwanag pa niya, “All is well among the dabarkads. We’ve all moved on, and the past remains there. We can revisit and reflect on the good and the bad with a peaceful heart.
“Ten years on, we are all living the lives we chose, and I hope we can keep moving forward without nurturing hate—because what’s the point? What do we gain from hostility?
“Again, in the grand scheme of things, what truly needs proving? Find your own answer. Let’s live for what makes us happy and make life less complicated and chaotic.”
Pinagdiinan din ni Maine na, “Life is short. When our time comes and memories flash before our eyes, don’t let yours be filled the moments you spewed negativity online.
“Don’t let it be your only contribution in this life. There’s another world of better things to do. Leave a better trace.”
May pahabol na pakiusap pa si Maine, “Please don’t throw hate on Alden. Regardless of what he meant by his words, it was really for the best for both of us and our situation at that time. Don’t read much into it.”
Well said Maine, ano naman kaya ang magiging reaction dito ni Alden?
