2 INDIBIDWAL, BARANGAY OFFICIAL ARESTADO NG NBI

DALAWANG indibidwal kasama ang isang opisyal ng barangay ang inaresto ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) dahil sa ilegal na pagbebenta ng “iron wood” o “magkuno”.

Kinilala ni NBI Director Eric Distor  ang mga naaresto na sina Clyde Rey Balaan na isang barangay councilor at Elward Lomongan, residente ng Lianga,Surigao del Sur.

Ang operasyon ay nag-ugat sa impormasyon na natanggap ng NBI-Eastern Visayas Regional Office kaugnay sa posibleng paglabag sa Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines dahil sa pag-transport ng mga suspek sa illegal na cut lumber .

Nakuha sa mga suspek ang  P900,000 . marked money, isang unit wing van, 12-wheeler truck 13  pirasong  putol na wood lumber.

“The wing van and the thirteen (13) pieces ‘Magkuno/Iron Wood” lumbers were turned over to DENR-PENRO (Department of Environmental and Natural Resources-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office), Palo, Leyte pending necessary documentation,” ayon sa NBI.

Dagdag pa ng NBI, nauna nang nakasuhan sina Balaan at Lomongcan sa Tacloban City Prosecutor’s Office sa pa paglabag sa Presidential Decree No. 705, the Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines. GENE ADSUARA
